History

It’s not called Historic Frederick, MD for nothing. The impression this city has left throughout the years, decades, and centuries is palpable, and Union Mills is no different. It started as a textile mill when it was built in 1893. While it could have easily been lost to time upon the mill’s closure, we didn’t want to see such a beautiful structure go to waste. Though it’s been revived as an event venue, we’re keeping its legacy alive through the preservation of much of the original materials and a commitment to the larger Downtown Frederick community.

Meet the power couple behind Union Mills Public House. With over 50 combined years within the hospitality and food service industries, they’re a force to be reckoned with. Their passion is apparent in the care they’ve poured into this historic knitting mill and every celebration that takes place here.

As for their love story, that’s equally unique. You can read all about it here.
